Nights of Lights Date Night: Food, Clues and a Relaxed Evening

Make the food activity and lights walk separate parts of the date. A complete Foodie Adventure takes 3–4 hours; it should not be squeezed between a 6:30 p.m. start and an 8 p.m. lights booking.

Start with the official season

The city has announced November 21, 2026–January 18, 2027 for the display. See the city announcement and our Nights of Lights planning guide before booking transport or a ticketed tour.

An afternoon Foodie Adventure

Allow a window such as 1–5 p.m. for the Foodie Adventure. Its $14.99 team pass covers the SMS clues and adventure, not food or drinks. Choose purchases separately and check the restaurants' actual hours, menu, and table availability. The suggested time is a planning example, not a reservation.

Leave a break before the lights

After the adventure, return to your accommodation or take a rest before exploring after dark. The Plaza de la Constitución, nearby historic-district streets, and the waterfront around the Bridge of Lions give you useful reference points. Public viewing is different from paid trolley or boat packages; book those independently if they suit your date.

Dinner or dessert

If the afternoon includes several food purchases, dessert may fit better than another full meal. If a special dinner is essential, make a separate reservation and leave a generous buffer. Ask directly about dietary requirements and holiday service. The hunt pass does not reserve a table or guarantee a romantic setting.

Prefer a shorter challenge?

The Beginner City Hunt is the alternative for a 90–120 minute landmark-based date before dinner. It uses the same $14.99 team pricing. Choose it when you want more time for a meal or less time devoted to food discovery. Avoid completing a long Foodie route and a full city hunt on the same tightly scheduled afternoon.

Keep the plan practical

Check parking, weather, walking comfort, and the route back to your accommodation. Do not continue an outdoor activity in dangerous conditions to keep a booking time. Crowds can extend arrival and meal times, especially on busy weekends. Our parking guide, couples weekend guide, and date-night page help you finish the plan.
