Afternoon: make sightseeing interactive
The Beginner City Hunt is the recommended all-ages family activity: six iconic landmarks, about one mile, and 90–120 minutes. The $14.99 pass covers one team of up to five on the team's phone. Adults should help children with reading, the phone, and road crossings. This is a regular city adventure, not a promise that a separate seasonal game is available.
An early meal and a rest
A sample plan is a 2–4 p.m. hunt, a rest and early meal, then a lights walk after dark. Add buffers for parking, crowds, and your family's pace. Food, drinks, and admission are separate from the hunt. Confirm any essential restaurant booking independently, especially on holiday dates.
Choose a manageable lights route
Use the Plaza de la Constitución and nearby historic-district streets as orientation points. Keep a clear meeting point and supervise children around roads and the water. A short walk can be enough; do not assume the whole district must be covered in one evening.
Strollers, mobility and tired children
Historic paving, narrow areas, and crowds vary. Check current conditions and your family's needs rather than relying on a blanket accessibility promise. Keep a shorter route available and arrange transport back before everyone is exhausted. Families with toddlers may prefer landmark stops instead of a full hunt.
Weather and backup plans
Bring suitable layers and water, check the forecast, and seek proper shelter during dangerous weather. An outdoor hunt is not a rainy-day indoor attraction. Choose a separate indoor museum visit where appropriate and check admission and age suitability.
